Shorin-Ryu is the oldest and most traditional form of Okinawan Karate. The root of this style is Chinese White Crane Kung Fu. The name Shorin-Ryu is the Okinawan pronunciation of "Shaolin Style", as in the Shaolin Temple of China. Thus Shorin-Ryu means Shaolin Style.
